So much for getting back on track :(

So I have been feverishly taking pictures, but when it comes to editing them I was so behind.  I had hundreds of wrestling pictures to try and get through before the season was over and we had the banquet.  Even though I was behind, I had everyday written down with exactly what picture I was going to post.  Then it happened...We moved our computer and when we went to turn it back on...nothing, our computer died :(

I am praying that they will be able to repair it or at least salvage some of my files and photos.  I am just thankful that most of my business stuff was backed up on my EHD.  I have spent the last couple of weeks burning my 2010 photos to DVDs.  All of my Christmas photos and anything I took in 2011 are more than likely gone.  In addition to everything I had on Studio Cloud, all of our music, my product guides, textures, posing guides, templates, actions, possilbly even some of my contracts.  Ugh, and personal files, school stuff for my son, his cross country pictures that I was planning on printing for his scrapbook...  The list goes on and on.  Everytime I think about it, something else comes to mind and it makes me just sick to my stomach.  So seriously ladies...back up your files!  All of them, not just your photos.

The worst part in all of this is that I have a session that I was going to rush for a local business.  They needed the photos for their advertising and to put on their billboard by the end of the month, but we are going on vacation this Thursday so I promised the photos before I left.  Unfortunately, now I don't have a computer to even edit them on.  Luckily, I have those photos on my EHD.

Brian thinks our PC is too unstable and I need something more reliable for my business so we are going Mac shopping tonight after work.  Again, back up your stuff!  I always hear people saying this, but thought I would just do it later.  Now, it's too late :(

Day 41 Marketing Materials

Thanks to the wonderful Kim at Madilu Designs I have a new custom marketing set :)  Here is just one of the many pieces that she created templates for.  I am really happy with all of the products and she's really great to work with!

Day 39 joy of love 08: Gift from the heart

Photobucket
Today's theme is gift from the heart.  The first thing that popped into my mind was my engagement ring.  Long story short, Brian surprised me by proposing in front of his family.  He picked out a beautiful ring on his own and even thought enough to have his mother take pictures.  I still love them today even though he could have warned me so I looked a little nicer..lol.  This is a close up of my two faves and a pull back of the frame that I have on our bedroom wall.  This was long before I knew about gallery wraps :)

Day 38 Joy of love 07: Generations

Photobucket
Today's theme was generations.  I couldn't quite accomplish that today so I pulled a photo from last year.  This is from my beautiful great grandma's 100th birthday party last March.  She'll be 101 in a month!  I love the theme for today because it stresses the importance of capturing photos of your family and those photos capture memories forever :)  When my great grandma is long gone we'll still have the photos of our time with her.  This would be three of the five generations.  My mom and grandma aren't in this photo, but they are still around.  This is my son's only great great grandma that is still alive.  It's nice that he is old enough to remember her.

Day 37 The joy of love 06: Who they love

Photobucket
Aside from me, who does Brian love?  His niece, McKenna!  This is a picture of Brian watching her dance video (while she danced along.)  Just before this he got to watch her play Just Dance Kids on Wii.  She definitely brings a smile to everyone's face!

Day 36 Joy of love 05: Love to Hate

Photobucket
Something I love to hate is James' train track.  It's seriously one of the best gifts he's ever received.  Getting it piece by piece for birthdays and Christmas gifts since he was little.  Hours have been spent rearranging track over and over again.  Even though it is always out and takes up half the family room floor when he has all of it out, it's been a wonderful way for him to be creative.  Maybe he'll be an architect someday :)

About This Blog

I have always had a love for photography so after years of just enjoying other people's photos I figured that I should focus more on my own :) This is my second year of doing a 365 day photo blog. I learned so much my first year and I am excited to see what this year brings!
